The death toll from the earthquake in Jableh has so far reached 283 deaths and 173 injured, while rubble removal and rescue operations continue to search for survivors.
The head of the Jableh City Council, Eng. Ahmed Qandil, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the safety committees examined the houses damaged by the earthquake, including 10 buildings that needed immediate removal, pointing out that the number of buildings that collapsed as a result of the earthquake was 19 building blocks.
