Alberto Fernández resists pressure to define whether he will run for re-election and insists with a STEP to resolve the internal

That was the position that he conveyed to a group of mayors and to Sergio Massa, who asked him for definitions. And he demanded to stop the cross grievances between the different spaces of the Frente de Todos.

Sergio Massa

was one of the last to arrive at the Olivos residence on Tuesday night to join

Alberto Fernández

's meeting with

Peronist mayors of the first and third electoral section

of the Province.

The Minister of Economy, who sat next to the president, in the chair that had been specially saved for him, asked the President to

define if he will finally run for re-election

.

The head of state did not agree with that assessment and insisted that there is time ahead.

In the meeting there were fouls by Kirchner mayors and reappearances of others, closer to La Rosada.

The seconds emphasized that Massa's request was "in a respectful tone" and that "

in no case was it an ultimatum"

nor was there talk of speeds, as it circulated in the morning hours.

Habitat Minister

Santiago Maggiotti

suggested in an interview with El Destape that municipal executives also demand that Fernández decide their situation.

"

The mayors asked the President to define if he is going to be re-elected, if possible before the day before the lists close,

" said the mayor using Navarro's license, one of the four national ministers of Buenos Aires origin present in Olivos, in addition to

Massa, Victoria Tolosa Paz and Gabriel Katopodis

, who sat at the head with Fernández.

The president insisted on the need to keep the Frente de Todos united regardless of who the candidate is.

In the Government they consider that an early definition could

affect governability

.

The president plans to extend his definition

of him until May

, the same month in which he was anointed by Cristina Kirchner 4 years ago.

In a staging of unity, Fernández will lead an act in Berazategui

this Friday

with

Axel Kicillof

, who was not in Olivos, and with mayors.

In addition, a meeting of the President with governors before next Thursday is not ruled out, when

the ruling party's national table

will meet for the first time .

The mayors of the most populous districts - and more aligned with Kirchnerism - could also take a unified position there.

The versions about what happened in Olivos vary depending on who is consulted.

A mayor who does not hide his discomfort with La Cámpora was forceful.

"None of us asked him for definitions," he noted.

Some of the officials closest to the president also denied that story.

The only Peronist mayors who spoke during the meeting were

Mario Ishii

, from José C. Paz;

Juan José Mussi

, from Berazategui;

Javier Osuna

, from Las Heras;

and

Mariel Fernández

, from Moreno.

The mayor of Moreno, who belongs to the Evita Movement, had shared an event in her district in the afternoon with the Minister of the Interior

Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro

.

The President did not avoid the open-air internship in which his Government is submerged.

"

If we keep shooting at the floor of the boat, we are all going to sink

," said the president.

And he demanded to stop with the grievances crossed between all the factions of the ruling party.

"

To criticize us we already have the media and the opposition

," he said.

Fernández referred to the FdT table that he convened for next February 16 at the PJ's national headquarters and explained that the purpose is to create "an environment so that everyone can see each other's faces and share diagnoses."

Kirchnerism demanded with the

microphones turned off and on

that this table be used to discuss the general direction of the Government.

Cristina and Máximo Kirchner

will not be part of the party, but in La Rosada they insisted that they will be represented on Calle Matheu.

"He told us that we should not expect big announcements or definitions from that instance in this first meeting, at least.

Excessive expectations must be lowered

," said a mayor about the president's presentation.

Fernández and his ministers guaranteed that there will be funds and works for the municipalities.

As Clarín

was able to reconstruct

, the President insisted that the primaries can be used to settle internal differences, an idea that irritates Kirchnerism and also several governors.

"

If we do not agree, we must go to a STEP

to resolve it, we must not be afraid of the STEP", said Fernández.

Tolosa Paz expressed the same idea in a radio interview hours after the meeting.

The STEP is.

It is the only way to channel the nuances

, ”said the Minister of Social Development in dialogue with AM 530. Massa, meanwhile, repeated in front of the community leaders while they shared a barbecue, that his role as Minister of Economy is “

incompatible” .

with a candidacy

.

The President led the meeting with Peronist mayors exactly one week after

Máximo Kirchner, Kicillof and Massa relaunched

the table of the

Frente de Todos de la Provincia

in Merlo .

The head of state did not have direct representatives there, beyond the "tranquility" that the presence of Maggiotti and Katopodis transmitted to him.

Like an inverted mirror,

several major Christian mayors

who did attend Merlo were not present in Olivos, such as

Mayra Mendoza (Quilmes) and Juan Ustarroz (Mercedes), from La Cámpora.

For different reasons, graduates Leonardo Nardini

(Malvinas), Gustavo Menéndez (Merlo), Martín Insaurralde (Lomas de Zamora) and former minister

Jorge Ferraresi

(Avellaneda) did not visit the President either.

The latter did send delegates.

On the contrary, others who were not in Merlo -and keep their distance from Christianity- did show close to Fernández, such as

Juan Zabaleta

(Hurlingham), Ishii and Andrés Watson, from Florencio Varela.

Fernando Espinoza

, the mayor of La Matanza, the most populous district in the province and a stronghold of Peronism, gave the note: he

hit the foul in both matches
