Beirut-SANA: Arab personalities have called for launching the largest campaign of solidarity with Syria in the face of the unjust Western blockade imposed on it

Beirut-SANA

Arab personalities have called for the launch of the largest campaign of solidarity with Syria in the face of the unjust Western blockade imposed on it, stressing the need to stand by the Syrians affected by the earthquake, and to deliver humanitarian aid to them.

Majdi Al-Maasrawi, General Coordinator of the Arab and International Popular Campaign to Lift the Siege on Syria, announced that a number of the founders of the campaign in several countries are participating in relief committees for those affected in Syria and lifting the unjust Western blockade on it.

Al-Maasrawi said in a statement: “A committee has been formed in Egypt to provide relief to those affected in Syria and to lift the siege on it,” indicating that communication has begun with many Egyptian personalities and organizations for this purpose.

In Algeria, a member of the campaign, Hajj Karim Rizqi, a member of the National Council of the Association of Muslim Scholars, said that the association decided to send an aid convoy to Syria.

In Jordan, a member of the popular campaign, Muhammad al-Bashir, stated that several organizations have begun to collect in-kind and material donations for the relief of the victims of the earthquake in Syria.

In Lebanon, a member of the Arab National Congress, Dr. Kamel Muhanna, called for a consultative meeting today for a number of local and Arab bodies to study means of support and relief for the victims of the earthquake in Syria.

In addition, the former Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Adnan Mansour, stressed in a statement to SANA reporter in Beirut that Lebanon should put aside the so-called “Caesar Law” and do everything it can to help Syria.

The former Lebanese Minister, Bechara Merhej, also stressed the need to deliver urgent aid to Syria, which is afflicted by the devastating earthquake and the American blockade imposed on it, and to multiply the rescue teams that went to it out of humanitarian motives or by virtue of the brotherly relationship that binds us with it as brotherly Arab countries.

Merhej said in a statement to SANA reporter: “Syria, which stood by Lebanon and every Arab country in its ordeal, has the right today. We have to stand by it.”

In turn, the Dean of Information in the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Maan Hamiyah, called for the widest campaign of solidarity with Syria, in rejection of the unjust American sanctions imposed on it, which constitute aggression against Syria and all humanity.

Hamiyah stressed in a similar statement that “what the countries of aggression did not achieve in their global war on Syria, they will not achieve through the blockade, which is considered one of the described crimes against humanity.”
