Yesterday and today (8th and 9th) for two consecutive days, they joined forces with the Food and Environmental Hygiene Points to conduct joint operations to combat parallel trading activities, street obstruction by shops and other nuisances.

During the operation, the FEHD and the police issued a total of 11 fixed penalty notices to illegal acts suspected of constituting street obstruction, and arrested one person suspected of selling in public places without a license and causing obstruction; Fixed penalty notices are issued to citizens under the Disease (Wearing of Mask) Regulations (Cap. 599I).

The police solemnly stated that carrying parallel imports across the border may violate the relevant laws of the Mainland, and reiterated that they will continue to cooperate with other law enforcement agencies, including the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Customs, and the Immigration Department, to crack down on illegal activities related to parallel imports.

At the same time, the police will also pay close attention to the transfer mode of parallel trading activities, strengthen intelligence collection and exchanges with other departments, and maintain close contact with relevant law enforcement agencies in the Mainland, and timely adjust the combat strategy according to the actual situation.
