In a night parade that it called "the largest demonstration of the country's nuclear attack capabilities", North Korea tonight (Thursday) presented dozens of intercontinental ballistic missiles and other weapons.
The parade, in the presence of leader Kim Jong Un, took place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the North Korean army.
Crowds thronged Il Song Square in Pyongyang, the country's capital, to watch the demonstration, which included military displays and parades.

Pictures released by the country's state media showed 11 Hwasong-17 missiles, North Korea's largest ballistic missiles equipped with a nuclear warhead, which are believed to be capable of reaching almost anywhere in the world.
Among the new systems introduced were intercontinental ballistic missiles that use solid fuel.
The development of such missiles is seen as a major goal for the country, as it will make the missiles more difficult to detect and destroy.
It is not clear whether North Korea is really close to the production of the new missile, because in the past the country has also presented unprepared models of missiles in parades.
However, the country moved forward with its ballistic missile program, despite Security Council resolutions and UN sanctions.
