A fire broke out in Mong Kok.
At about 2:55 am today (10th), a fire broke out in a low-rise unit at No. 925-927 Canton Road, emitting a lot of smoke.
Firefighters arrived and used a hose and a team of smoking caps to fight the fire. It took nearly an hour to extinguish the fire. During this time, a female resident was rescued. He was fully certified dead at about 4:25 am.
During the fire, dozens of other residents were evacuated to a safe place for temporary shelter.
It is understood that the female deceased was 36 years old and lived in a unit on the first floor of the above site, with an area of about 350 square feet.
Mr. Lin, who lives on the second floor of the above site, said that he smelled a burning smell when the incident happened. After checking around, he saw smoke seeping from the door of the unit on the first floor involved in the incident, so he immediately called the police.
He pointed out that after the firefighters arrived at the scene and opened the door, there was a lot of smoke pouring out, but he did not see any flames.

It is understood that a row of tenement buildings at the above site are being acquired. The buildings are more than 60 years old and named "Ou Yiju" after renovation earlier. Some units are under service management and are leased to foreign students, professors and other foreigners for a long time.
