Telekom speaks of complex troubleshooting.

Penzberg – Daniela Vlasic's landline phone hasn't worked for about six months.

The line has been dead since August. The landline connection is very important to her, as she explained to Telekom.

There, the woman from Penzberg, who lives on Wankstraße, was put off time and time again, "just to get rid of me," she suspected.

She kept records of the conversations.

According to this, Telekom has informed her seven times since the end of October alone that the damage will be repaired in one to two weeks.

But the line stayed dead.

Telekom does not come to Potte: Not the only case in Penzberg

The Penzbergerin has now turned to the local newspaper with the problem.

When asked, Telekom did not say when the disruption would end.

But it was said that the fault had been found and that an application had been made for civil engineering work.

So does only public pressure help?

In November, another woman from Penzberg reported that her in-laws, who were over 80, had not had their landline network for two and a half months.

She was also given repair dates without anything happening.

It said it was a complex error.

After a request from the local newspaper, the connection worked again three days later.

A similar experience was had in 2022 in the AWO senior citizens' center with Vodafone, when the TV cable connection did not work for weeks and it suddenly went quickly when asked by the newspaper.

Telekom reacts: the case “took more time than usual”

In the case of Daniela Vlasic, Telekom reported on request that the fault had been found.

The cause of the disruption was "water penetrating into a branch cable", two customer connections were affected.

The error first had to be localized at great expense.

"Because we can't simply open up the street on suspicion to find the exact spot of damage."

With cables that lie underground, faults or damage are generally more difficult to find and only with considerable effort.

It is often said that the cable is defective in several places.

This must be carefully checked during the measurement "in order to find the individual errors in a targeted manner and also to rule out subsequent errors".

In the present case, however, Telekom concedes that it “took more time than usual”.

According to the company, civil engineering work is required to replace the damaged cable.

An application for the necessary traffic law order has now been submitted to the city administration.

At the moment, however, no concrete statement can be made about the end of the fault, according to Telekom.

Daniela Vlasic and her mother also received a prompt call back from Telekom.

However, they were also told that the fault report was not processed until December due to a lack of staff.

Why wasn't this said back then, the Penzberg resident is puzzled.

One could live better with that than being put off and lied to every 14 days.
