After the last Angoulême festival, now Fnac is in turn affected by the affair that is shaking the world of comics.
The sign is in the sights of a movement fighting against incest and sexual violence against children.
Arnaud Gallais, co-founder of Bebrave France, at the initiative of the deprogramming of the Bastien Vivès exhibition in Angoulême, sent a letter a few days ago to the CEO of the sign to express his indignation about a coup de heart of Fnac.
Among the works honored was
Mental Discharge
, an album by Vivès under investigation for disseminating child pornography.
“We have discovered that one of these works, The mental discharge, is a favorite of the month of February from FNAC. This crush is unbearable for us in view of what these drawings represent and the emotion aroused by them. We want you to take that crush away. Know that other stores, other brands, have chosen not to market these works, ”
wrote Arnaud Gallais in a letter that he sent to all the press.

This letter was sent after feminist activist Laetitia Abad Estieu posted a message on Instagram via her cestquoicetteinsulte account.
A snapshot showed a shelving of the Fnac exhibiting a dozen works by the author, including
Mental Discharge,
a pornographic work depicting sexual relations between minors and adults.
The co-author of the book
Garce, hysterical and other fun things: What do our insults really mean?
also specified that the album was exhibited at Fnac rue de Rennes (Paris 6th).
Would Arnaud Gallais have been heard?
During our visit this Thursday, there was no highlighting of
Mental Discharge
or other works by Bastien Vivès.
Questioned by
Le Figaro
, the sign did not wish to speak on the subject.
Bastien Vivès is at the heart of a controversy that dates back to last December.
The author of
Polina
was to be honored with an exhibition in Angoulême during the Comic Strip Festival at the end of January.
But the direction of the festival announced in mid-December the cancellation of this exhibition, citing "threats" which targeted the author and the organizers.
An online petition demanding the deprogramming of the exhibition, launched by Arnaud Gallais, has obtained 110,000 signatures.

Another association, Innocence in danger, also lodged a complaint with the Paris prosecutor's office at the end of December against the author and the same publishing houses, considering that the three comic strips
La discharge mental
,
Les Melons de la Colère
, as well as
Petit Paul
relate to the dissemination of child pornography images but also to incitement to commit sexual assaults on minors and the dissemination of violent messages to a minor.
