Impeachment of the Court: Kirchnerism seeks to approve the complaints against the judges and there are differences in the opposition

The Frente de Todos will use its majority in the commission to open the investigation against the members of the highest court.

Kirchnerism seeks this Thursday in the Political Trial Commission of the Chamber of Deputies to approve the complaints that are being processed against the members of the Supreme Court and to open a summary to accumulate the evidence that supports the accusation against the magistrates Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.

The commission chaired by the official Carolina Gaillard meets from 11 in room 1 of the Annex building to move forward with this instance, after two previous meetings that served to establish the work schedule and receive the testimonies of the authors of the 14 files that are processed.

The admissibility report is not an opinion, it is a resolution that is put to a vote and approved by a simple majority.

The Frente de Todos has 16 members of its own out of the 31 total that make up the commission.

It is enough for them, just enough, to give it the green light, but no one can fail.

The ruling party plans to accept almost all of the 14 current requests for impeachment.

But they had doubts with two of those presented by individuals.

As Clarín recounted, Together for Change will have a divided position.

Given that approval in the court is impossible, because the ruling party needs two thirds and does not have them, from the beginning the opposition described the maneuver against the Court as a mere "circus" to "pressure" the judges.

The Civic Coalition agrees with that reading but in order to maintain consistency they decided to uphold the impeachment request that its leader, Elisa Carrió, initiated against Lorenzetti in 2017.
