Oberallgäu – The Oberallgäu Integration Advisory Board is trying to coordinate relief efforts in the district and is asking for donations of money to trustworthy organizations.
On Wednesday evening around 35 people took part in the special meeting of the Oberallgäu eV integration advisory board on the occasion of the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria.
The background was the many desperate calls to the office asking for help.
The Advisory Board tries to network the existing offers in order to achieve synergies.
After a brief introduction to the current status of the campaign, it quickly became clear that further donations in kind could no longer be accepted.
State support required
The remaining donations in kind will be sent directly to Turkey by Sprinter, where the first transport has already arrived.
However, it is no longer possible on a voluntary basis to transport the huge amount of donations in kind to those in need.
State help would be necessary here, for which the volunteers are urgently asking.
Experience from other crisis situations shows that this is possible.

Aid directly to Syria is currently being analyzed by a small team from the integration advisory board.
The results will be announced immediately.
Worried about family members
Those present were also from Oberallgäu, who are currently worried about family members living in the earthquake regions.
Their concern is that they are offered a safe place to stay.
They ask for a quick and unbureaucratic solution to enable a temporary stay in Oberallgäu.
Discussions are currently being sought and held with politicians at local, state and federal level.
