The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, discussed with industrialists, traders and importers the priorities of basic imports, financing mechanisms to provide the local market needs of basic commodities, raw materials needed for factories and industrial facilities, obstacles facing the financing process and ways to solve them.
Minister Salem presented during the meeting, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade and a representative of the Central Bank of Syria, a detailed explanation about the content of the instructions of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which include giving priority to some materials and commodities to finance them through duly licensed exchange companies, and the classification of priorities and how to manage them, stressing that only old deposits will be submitted The materials registered as priorities and not registered in the list of priorities will move according to their regular role.
Minister Salem stressed that the goal is to reduce costs, whether for products on the market or even for exported materials, in order to achieve competitiveness over similar ones, and the production wheel must be revitalized, and factories that cost a lot of money and effort must be operated, because the only way to advance the economic reality in Syria is through employment. both industrial and commercial, and to encourage export because it is beneficial by strengthening the foreign exchange needed to finance basic materials.
Minister Salem called on all actors to commit to trading real bills that reflect the actual costs and effective profit margins, with the aim of achieving the positive repercussions of recent government decisions.
