More than 200 opposition prisoners, including two French women, were released Thursday in Nicaragua by the government of Daniel Ortega and are on their way to the United States, relatives and opponents in exile said.

," said in a video posted on social networks Arturo McFields, the former Nicaraguan ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), who was ousted after called his country a dictatorship and who now lives in the United States.
Javier Alvarez, a Nicaraguan living in exile in Costa Rica, confirmed to AFP that among those freed are his wife and daughter, who also have French nationality.
Managua hasn't made any official statements yet.
