In a night parade in the capital Pyongyang, the ruler Kim Jong Un reviewed a series of weapons that cause concern in the West • Experts believe: the new missiles may challenge the American defense system

The ruler of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, reviewed a huge military parade tonight (Thursday) in the capital Pyongyang during which several never-before-seen models of intercontinental ballistic missiles that arouse great concern in the West were put on display.

The ruler was seen at the parade, which was held at midnight in the bitter cold of the North Korean capital, as he sat beside him on an elevated platform.

Experts believe that Kim may be grooming his daughter to be his heir, after removing henna from his sister, Kim Yo Jong.

The number and type of ballistic missiles displayed in the parade caused concern among experts in the West.

Analysts in the field of nuclear weapons warned that a large number of missiles of the models presented, which could theoretically reach the territory of the United States, could significantly challenge the American defense system.

The North Korean media did not elaborate on the types of missiles that were presented and contented themselves with claiming that they reflect "tremendous military deterrence and a multitude of capabilities to carry out a counterattack."

The published images showed close to 15 ICBM launchers with missiles on them.

Tens of thousands of people were brought in the freezing cold to witness the parade in one of the main squares in Pyongyang.

North Korea is suffering from a severe shortage of food products and last week Kim held an urgent meeting on agriculture and food supply in the country.

A new decrease in imports and exports to China during the Corona period has put the food economy in the closed country into a spin and according to some reports, large parts of North Korea's population are suffering from malnutrition.
