Today, the branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Hama began distributing imported foreign potato seeds to farmers, from the spring season of the current season.
The director of the branch, Eng. Loay Al-Hosari, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the farmers can visit the branch’s headquarters to receive the subscribed quantities, which amount to 450 tons of the Spunta, Agria, Synergy, Arizona and Everest varieties, indicating that the subscribed varieties are of good quality and free from diseases, and they were well examined by Specialized committees.
Al-Husari indicated that the subscribed farmers must pay the rest of the financial amount owed by them as a price for the seed, whether in the branch or the agricultural banks in the governorate, to complement the financial advance they paid previously, amounting to one and a half million per ton, pointing out that the prices of imported seeds in the General Organization for Seed Multiplication are lower. from the local market at a good rate.
The branch manager pointed out that the sale of sterilized and sifted wheat and barley seeds to the governorate's farmers continues until the end of the current agricultural season for the two crops, in addition to the continuation of sifting the wheat seeds received from the propagating fields last season.
