The e-Enfance association strengthens 30 18, its emergency call system

On the occasion of the inauguration of its new premises, the association announced that it was expanding its team and making its number reachable seven days a week.

Between anger and tremors, the voice of this mother resonates in the new premises of the E-Enfance association.

This Tuesday, February 8, the call was received by their national emergency number, 30 18. Launched five years earlier, the latter offers immediate listening to the youngest and parents, on issues related to the universe digital.

If necessary, the association advises the victims to gather evidence and lodge a complaint.

In 2022, more than 25,000 calls were made to 30 18. An increase of 40% compared to 2020. Three calls per day, at least, reported situations of cyberbullying in schools.

The other most frequent forms of violence concern “sextortion” and webcam blackmail.

That same year, the association managed to have 10,000 accounts and content deemed reprehensible by law deleted.

On the occasion of the inauguration of its new premises, a strengthening of the system was announced by e-Enfance.

Thanks to the recruitment of eight new employees, the 30 18 will be reachable seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The team, made up of professionals, lawyers, psychologists and digital experts, has grown to 20 employees.

In addition, the association intends to continue to publicize the various means available to reach 30 18. In particular its application, already downloaded 30,000 times since its launch.

Pap Ndiaye, the Minister of National Education, Jean-Noël Barrot, the Minister in charge of the Digital Transition, and Charlotte Caubel, the Secretary of State responsible for children were alongside Brigitte Macron, to listen to the testimonies received by the members of the association.

The minister assured that he wanted to draw all the consequences of the drama linked to the harassment of young Lucas.

Last January, this 13-year-old schoolboy committed suicide in the Vosges after being harassed because of his sexual orientation.
