Minister of Information Galit Distal Atabrian intends to appoint Sharon Uziel Peled to the position of Director General of the Ministry of Information, which has not yet been established, and to be the first minister in the government to appoint a woman to the position of Director General of the Ministry.
The Civil Service Commission approved Uziel Peled's candidacy last night (Wednesday) and her appointment is subject to approval at the upcoming cabinet meeting.
The ministry of information was re-established last month for Distel Atbarian, who was initially appointed as a minister in the Prime Minister's office, but later received the title of minister of information and a promise to establish a ministry with standards and budgets.
Earlier this week, Distel complained in an interview on Gali Israel about the delays in establishing her ministry: "Currently I don't have a car, I don't have an office and I don't have standards," she said, and asked the interviewer Yaakov Bardogo, who is close to the Prime Minister, "to apply pressure so that the ministry of information is established.
I get up every morning and bang my head against the wall until 12 at night and nothing moves."

Distel herself announced the appointment of the CEO to her office last night on Twitter: "Listen to a segment, tonight the good friends in Eretz Fahad came down on me for not bringing a CEO to the Ministry of Information and at the exact moment it was aired, they called me from the Commission and informed me that the CEO I brought was unanimously approved by The committee because it's a space cannon," she wrote. "Not bad, screenwriters of a wonderful land, maybe next time you'll get caught up in reality.
