Al-Hasakah - SANA
The people of Al-Hasakah flocked to the headquarters of the Sub-Committee for Relief in the governorate building, to offer their donations and contribute to helping the families affected by the earthquake, and to alleviate their suffering in the face of difficult conditions and the repercussions of the war and the siege.
The total financial donations made by the people of al-Hasakah so far amounted to about 700 million Syrian pounds, part of which was deposited in the Central Bank of Syria branch in the account of the Central Committee for Relief to be provided to the affected families, amid expectations of an increase in aid in light of the turnout of the people to express their support for their brothers in the provinces.
The governor of Hasakah, Dr. Louay Sayoh, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the people of the province rushed to help their brothers back home, despite the difficult conditions they live in under the presence of the American and Turkish occupations and the unfair economic blockade.
Saioh explained that the aid included medicines, winter clothes, shoes and other relief aid, which are prepared by a number of institutions to be sent to the affected governorates, while coordinating all relief efforts in the governorate in order to provide everything necessary for those affected.
SANA monitored the preparation and processing of in-kind aid for the Syrian Al-Yamamah Charitable Foundation, where a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Ismail Taha, stated that the first batch of aid includes medicines and clothes, in addition to cash sums of 25 million Syrian pounds, and there will be other batches to be prepared in order to alleviate the suffering of the affected families. In a message that the Syrians suffer and their pain is the same, and we will not spare anything until we alleviate their suffering.
At the same level, popular activities from the people of the province organized the “Sons of the Island” campaign to support those affected by the earthquake, where the young man, Radhi Shtawi, the supervisor of the campaign, explained that it includes a group of people from Al-Hasakah, with the aim of extending a helping hand and providing all support to those affected, by collecting donations in coordination with the committee. Sub-Relief, to send a medical and volunteer team to the affected provinces, to help treat the wounded.
The young man, Iyad Al-Saleh, plays his role in cooperation with a group of young people in the governorate, in an initiative to help the families affected by the earthquake, and explains that he and his colleagues are making a tour of merchants and shop owners, to collect clothes for children and present them to the relief sub-committee to deliver them to the affected people, noting the rush of citizens to donate, each according to his capabilities and ability.
