The Center for Health Protection was notified by the Hospital Authority yesterday (9th) of a suspected case of mercury poisoning. A 40-year-old female patient was diagnosed with proteinuria after admission, which means excessive protein in the urine.

She used a whitening moisturizer called "Goree Day and Night Beauty Cream" for several months.

The patient is currently in stable condition and has been discharged.

Subsequent laboratory tests by the Hospital Authority showed that the product contained excessive mercury, and the case has been forwarded to relevant law enforcement agencies for follow-up.

The Center for Health Protection appeals to members of the public who are using the above products to stop using them immediately.

If you feel unwell or have doubts after use, you should seek medical advice as soon as possible.
