The rescue forces in Turkey today (Friday) pulled more than 12 survivors from the ruins, more than 100 hours after the earthquake that killed more than 22,000 people and tens of thousands lost their homes.

Among the survivors are six members of one family who were found in a small pocket under the ruins of their residential building, a boy who had to drink urine in order to survive and a four-year-old boy who took gummy candies from his rescuers while they were working to free him from the rubble.

The dramatic scenes were broadcast live on Turkish television and caused great excitement in the country mourning the heavy disaster.

Four days after the massive devastation caused by the earthquake, relatives gathered in the ruins of their home alongside rescue teams as Adnan Muhammad Korkut, a 17-year-old boy, was pulled alive from the rubble.

The boy had to drink his own urine in order not to dry to death while he was trapped in a tiny space in the rubble.

"Thank God you arrived," the boy said to the rescuers after he was pulled out of the rubble and reunited with his mother.

One of the rescuers, a woman named Yasmin, was moved to tears.

"I have a son your age. I swear to you, I didn't sleep for four days, all I wanted was to save you."

The rescuer and the survivor were filmed hugging.

In the city of Adiyaman, rescuers managed to pull Yigiz Komso, a four-year-old boy from the rubble, 105 hours after the earthquake.

After he was rescued, the rescuers managed to reach the child's mother and pressed her alive from the rubble.

Those present at the rescue scene were asked not to clap their hands in order not to startle a child, who asked the rescuers for gummy candies while they were clearing a safe path to get him out of the rubble.
