Arab and Syrian writers called for lifting the unilateral, unjust Western coercive measures against Syria, and raising the voice to completely break the siege imposed on it, stressing that the human and global conscience must realize the magnitude of the crime of the siege on the Syrian people, which targeted all aspects of their lives, especially after the catastrophe of the earthquake.

The head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, said in a statement to SANA: “Every honorable son of the nation and the world must press for the complete lifting of the siege on Syria and its people, noting the positions of unions, unions and civil organizations in the Arab countries that called on their governments to break the siege and run bridges of air and land aid to those affected by the earthquake.

In turn, the Vice-President of the Union of Arab Writers in Syria, the poet Tawfiq Ahmed, called on the members of the Union to actively contribute donations and provide all forms of support to help those affected by the earthquake.

Vice-President of the Union of Writers in Egypt, Mokhtar Eissa, stressed the need to lift the siege on the Syrian people urgently, pointing out that this people struggled during the past years by confronting terrorism and exposing the falsity of the invaders and occupiers.

Writer Bahjat al-Obeidi, founder of the International Federation of the Egyptian Homeland Abroad, explained that the humanitarian stances issued by the brotherly Arab and friendly foreign peoples are completely natural stances consistent with the horror of the event and with what the Syrian people have in the hearts of all the people of the Arab world and with the status of Syria, calling on all countries to break Siege and provide aid to the Syrian people.

For his part, the Secretary of the Palestinian Writers Union, Rafi Al-Saadi, stated that the Arab people have proven that this nation is like one body, so it was not strange for the positions supporting the Syrian Arab people in their great affliction, calling for lifting the siege on Arab Syria and Arabism.

The writer Abd al-Ridha al-Hamid stressed that the catastrophe of the earthquake that struck Syria should move the human conscience and push it to perceive the magnitude of the crime of blockade against Syria, which is a larger and more dangerous earthquake, and to demand that it be broken and undermined, while the Iraqi poet Walid Hussein noted Syria's previous positions with all Arab countries, which must be It pushes everyone to provide all possible assistance so that the Syrian people can overcome the catastrophe of the earthquake and the ordeal of the siege that they have long suffered from in various aspects of their lives.

The head of the Tartous branch of the Union of Arab Writers, writer Munther Yahya Issa, called on all Arab writers to work together and coordinate to demand an end to the siege imposed on the Syrian people.
