A left-wing MP in France has been banned from Parliament for two weeks for posing in a photo with his foot on a ball depicting the Labor Minister's head.
MP Thomas Portes had to leave Parliament in Paris immediately after the sanctions were passed on Friday evening.
He is not allowed to enter the plenary hall or other premises of the Assemblée Nationale for the next two weeks.
The photo in a tweet by the MP could give the impression that he was about to play football with Labor Minister Olivier Dussopt's head.
The tweet had caused great outrage among a number of politicians.
With the tweet, the MP called on the Minister of Labor to withdraw the pension reform he had introduced in Parliament on Monday.
The debate on the reform, which has been going on since Monday, has been marked by tumult, heckling and insults.
Parliament President Yaël Braun-Pivet complained on Friday evening that all this was not worthy of Parliament.
