The Florida State Congress passed a law on Friday (February 10th) authorizing the administration of Republican Governor Ron DeSantis to transfer illegal immigrants to another state, including if they live outside Florida.
This text expands the scope of a law already passed last year which authorized this transfer to other states, but only from Florida.
Biden's migration policy in question
Governor DeSantis claimed last September the transfer of 48 migrants by plane from Texas to the island of Martha's Vineyard, a popular vacation spot for American high society, located in Massachusetts (Northeast).
He had thus joined the movement launched by the Republican governors of Texas and Arizona, who were determined to deport illegal immigrants to Democratic cities in the north and east of the United States, as a sign of protest against the migration policy led by Democratic President Joe Biden.

A Democratic congressional senator from Florida, Jason Pizzo, had sued Governor DeSantis' administration over the transfers made last year, saying it had violated the law since the migrants had left from Texas. not Florida.
The text approved this Friday, and which has yet to be signed into law by Ron DeSantis, eliminates this restriction by allowing illegal immigrants to be transferred from anywhere in the United States.
This vote comes as Florida has recorded a sharp increase in the arrival of migrants, mostly Cubans and Haitians, on its coasts in recent weeks.
