Today, Tishreen University formed specialized engineering committees for the immediate detection of buildings damaged by the devastating earthquake that hit Lattakia Governorate.
The President of Tishreen University, Dr. Bassam Hassan, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that committees have been formed to assess and deal with the cracked buildings, including faculty members, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students, through which construction cases will be described and necessary reports will be submitted.
Dr. Hassan pointed out that the task of the committees is to inspect the buildings in coordination with the governorate, the city council of Latakia and Jableh, and all the responsible administrative authorities.
He stressed that the committees will complete their work and submit their reports to the concerned authorities as soon as possible, after coordinating and integrating the work with those concerned in the governorate, the Ministry of Local Administration and the Engineers Association, as the committees formed in the university contribute to evaluating the status of buildings and providing technical advice.
