Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko expressed his country's readiness to cooperate with the European Union if Brussels adopted an independent role in a multipolar world.
TASS news agency quoted Grushko as saying: “Despite all the unfriendly statements and positions expressed by European officials, we have been keen to maintain diplomatic relations with the European Union countries, and if these countries think about the fate of the union and its independent role in a multipolar world, we will be ready to cooperate.” with him in the fields he needs, and at the same time meet the interests of our country.
Groshko said that Russia maintains "relatively regular" contacts with Europeans, especially in the areas of industries, health care, climate, science, education and veterinary medicine, in addition to some aspects of trade and energy cooperation.
He stressed that the anti-Russian views expressed by the leadership of European institutions do not reflect the positions of all EU states, its social and political organizations and citizens of its countries.
