The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the illegal and unilateral US sanctions against Iran show the legitimacy of Tehran's position, and Washington's hypocrisy towards it and the nuclear agreement.
Commenting on the new sanctions imposed by the US Treasury Department on some Iranian companies, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said: “The Biden administration’s resort to sanctions is similar to the failed policy adopted by his predecessor Donald Trump, which only made Iran more determined to vigorously pursue its development goals.” patriotism and the exploitation of its indisputable legal rights.”
Kanani added: The United States bears an international responsibility by imposing harsh sanctions and coercive measures against Iran, in contradiction to the recognized principles and rules of international law. There is no doubt that the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves all its rights in the face of such measures.
The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on nine companies involved in the production, sale and delivery of Iranian petrochemical products and crude oil to Asian customers.
