2023-02-10T07:21:02.499Z

INTERVIEW – The presenter will be alone at the helm to bring the ceremony to life live. A first for her.

Laury Thilleman

does not hide it: she likes challenges.

The young woman of 31 years will raise a size this Friday, February 10 on France 2 by presenting, alone, the 38th ceremony of the Victoires de la Musique.

A first for those who have a real passion for this show and for music in general.

While the evening will be chaired by Calogero and will celebrate Serge Lama with a victory of honor on his 80th birthday, she confides in this unprecedented challenge.

- How do you live the fact of being alone on stage to present this big barnum that are the Victoires de la Musique?

Laury THILLEMAN.

-

I will certainly be alone but certain emblematic artists of the Victories will come to give awards with me.

I have a little pressure but it's also a great consecration.

When it was announced to me, I thought very much of Stéphane Bern and Olivier Minne, with whom I presented the first two editions.

I feel very moved and proud.

I think it's been a while since we wrote the history of music at prestigious events with France Télévisions and it is perhaps the fruit of a little deserved work.

I dare to hope so in any case.

In what way does the Victoires de la Musique represent a special evening for you?

First of all, it's live and I think it's the most prestigious evening, musically speaking, that we can find, a kind of French Grammy Awards.

I also love it because we discover new talents there.

There are many musical premiums where we find the same artists.

This time, we are in the novelty and the eclectic side of the music.

And then, the Victories, it's an evening that I have never missed.

It was a dream to present them one day.

I did it the first time when I was 29, it was very strong.

It really is a gift.

I am amazed by this evening.

How do you approach the animation of this live?

What matters above all is not the presentation but the artists and the music.

I will only be the guide and the red thread of this evening.

Behind the scenes, we are almost all the same age and some artists nominated in the 2023 Revelations category ask me for advice so I can have a role as a big sister to them.

On stage, I will be mistress of ceremonies, entertainer and I will try to bring a little lightness to this evening which is very well established and prestigious.

There is a framework to respect but I also leave myself a certain form of freedom to bring what they came to get me for.

How to bring lightness to an evening often considered too long?

I will bring smiles.

I think there may also be a way of presenting and announcing, a question of energy.

I attach great importance to the writing of my texts.

For me, each word must have its place and it's really my way of speaking and rejuvenating certain programs on which I am asked to be present.

Do you have any favorites among the artists nominated in the 2023 Revelations category?

There are a few artists that I knew before the Révélations were announced, such as Pierre de Maere with whom I have a lot of affinity.

I went to see his concert and I knew him before he became known to the general public.

I love following artist stories like his.

It's the same with Emma Peters.

Afterwards, I also always have immense pride and support for my Breton compatriots like Lucas de Lujipeka.

I also discover November Ultra who is our French Adele and Jacques, who has a completely crazy and magical universe.

There is also Mentissa that we had discovered in "The Voice" and whose path I had followed a bit.

And among the confirmed artists, do you have any favourites?

I am a consumer of all these artists, there is not one that I prefer more than the other.

But I particularly followed Clara Luciani because she received a prize the first year when I presented the Victoires, then a second the following year, so a bond was created between us.

Orelsan released

The Song of the Sirens

in 2011, the year I was elected Miss France, so we met on lots of sets.

These little stories mean that I am not insensitive to these artists.

What does music represent for you?

It's what has held me since I was little so I'm living a daydream.

I find that music has something meditative about it, it helps me a lot on a daily basis to develop positive thoughts.
