The minimum wage will be raised to 40 yuan on May 1.

Guo Weiqiang and Liang Ziying from the Federation of Trade Unions also criticized that the last freeze of the minimum wage prevented wage earners from catching up with inflation, and the current "two-year inspection" system made workers suffer from inflation for two years before catching up.
He Jinbiao pointed out that the Minimum Wage Commission will submit a minimum wage review report to the government at the end of October this year, and if the cycle is adjusted, the Commission will also need to adjust the mechanism of consultation, research and data analysis, so it will take some time.
He said that he would have to wait for the review report to be released before he could say whether the "annual inspection" is possible, and he thought it was too early to say.
