(ANSA) - MILAN, FEBRUARY 10 - A supermarket saleswoman who was followed on her way to work in Cornaredo (Milan) by bike was attacked in the parking lot.
The alleged perpetrator has now been arrested by the Carabinieri of Milan, who reported the episode today.
The events took place on January 4, when the young woman, a 28-year-old who works the first shift, the dawn shift, went to work by bike around 5 am.
The man, a 35-year-old Ecuadorian, residing in Rho (Milan), according to her accusations, first followed her by car and then waited on foot, in the dark, throwing her to the ground and committing sexual acts.
When she managed to free herself, she screamed, asking for help and her colleagues came out to her rescue, while the man fled.
However, his car was immortalized by some cameras and so the Cornaredo Carabinieri tracked him down on the street, in Rho, on the following January 9, while he was driving the same car, without a license and drunk.
At home they also found a garment, a white sweatshirt, that the victim remembered.
On February 4, the man was arrested following a precautionary custody order issued by the Milan investigating judge.
