Large crowds of the Syrian community, Arab expatriates and Russian citizens participated in a solidarity stand today at the headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in Moscow in support of the Syrian people affected by the catastrophe of the earthquake that struck Syria.

The crowds affirmed their solidarity with Syria in dealing with the repercussions and consequences of the earthquake, denouncing the continuation of the Western countries in imposing their unilateral coercive measures and sanctions on Syria, which revealed the hypocrisy of these countries regarding the defense of human rights and democracy.

In a speech of solidarity with the Syrian people, the head of the Solidarity Committee with Syria, Sergey Babourin, said, “It is sad to see hypocrisy, not only in normal circumstances, but also in circumstances of catastrophes and catastrophes,” noting that “the West continues its sanctions against Syria, and its forces occupy parts of its lands and steal The goods and wealth of the Syrian people, who are in dire need of them, especially in these difficult circumstances.

Babourin affirmed work to meet the needs of Syria and its people affected by the earthquake, expressing his condolences to the victims of this natural disaster.

In turn, the spokesman for the international social organization “The Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society” referred to the declaration of a state of mourning in the association since the earthquake occurred in Syria.

He affirmed the association's solidarity with the Syrian people and its readiness to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by this tragedy.

In turn, the head of the Syrian-Russian Charitable Foundation “Rossar”, Oleg Fomin, referred to the contribution to providing various aids to the Syrian people, collecting donations and sending them to the people affected by the earthquake.

For her part, the head of the Saint Paul Foundation, a Russian citizen, Lantseva, said: “Wounded Syria is in need today of all support and assistance, and we offer condolences to every Syrian, and we wish recovery for the injured, and patience and solace for the afflicted who sleep outdoors in cold, rainy weather.. Russia and its citizens are with you.”

In his speech during the solidarity stand, the Syrian ambassador in Moscow, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, denounced the policy of illegal sanctions imposed on Syria and Russia, stressing that Western sanctions increase the difficulties of the lives of the Syrian people in the face of the consequences of the earthquake.

Al-Jaafari stated that the earthquake revealed the depth of Western hypocrisy, as humanitarian aid reaches Syria from Arab countries, Russia and friendly countries, pointing out that there is an immoral bias on the part of the West even in the field of humanitarian aid to Syria, as all Western aid goes to Turkey and nothing has arrived. from it to Syria.

Ambassador Al-Jaafari pointed to Syria's need for heavy engineering machinery to remove the rubble and stones from the collapsed houses, explaining that Syria does not find these mechanisms due to Western sanctions, and even humanitarian aid is being denied it under deceptive political titles, expressing his sincere thanks to everyone who contributed and sought this stand. Solidarity that confirms the true kinship and humanity between the Syrian and Russian peoples.

Al-Jaafari pointed out that cash assistance was accepted for those affected by the earthquake, as the Syrian embassy in Moscow opened a special account in a Russian bank.

Al-Jaafari stressed that the Russian position is decisive and effective in international relations and in ending American hegemony over the world and restoring balance to international relations.
