2023-02-10T18:21:51.493Z

The unions again called on their troops and opponents of the government's bill to mobilize across France on Saturday.

New day of demonstrations, new disturbances?

While the trade unions once again called on the French to mobilize on Saturday against the pension reform, currently being debated in the National Assembly, some are worried about possible repercussions in certain strategic sectors.

Especially since February 11 will be the first mobilization since January to be organized over a weekend.

Way for the unions to attract as many people as possible and to rebound after the drop in participation on Tuesday: only 757,000 French people had been identified by the Interior, against 1.27 million the previous week.

According to an information note, consulted by

TF1

, between 500,000 and 700,000 people are expected on Saturday, including 90,000 to 12,000 in Paris.

To anticipate this day,

Le Figaro

takes stock.

Several demonstrations will therefore be held throughout France.

Each of them will therefore have its own device to guarantee the proper holding of the gatherings.

A procession will of course parade in Paris, a municipality whose mobilization figures are still closely scrutinized.

Thursday evening, the police headquarters gave several information about the route of the demonstrators.

The latter “

will leave Place de la République at 12 p.m., to reach Place de la Nation at 7 p.m., via Boulevard Voltaire

”.

As for transport, no particular trouble is to be expected for this crossover day of the holidays.

Unlike the first mobilizations, Ile-de-France residents will not have to disrupt their routes depending on strike calls.

If the inter-union of the RATP had called on the employees to “

continue and amplify the mobilization

” by this mode of action, in a press release at the end of January, the management does not show concern.

Contacted by

Le Figaro

, she specifies that she does not expect any “

significant

” impact on the metros, RER, buses or even trams.

Next mobilization: February 16

For its part, the SNCF does not anticipate major disruptions on its network this Saturday either.

Having not called for a strike within the railway company, the unions have instead urged their troops to participate in demonstrations throughout France.

Without fear of being accused of affecting the holidays of the French, as had been the case during the end-of-year celebrations.

No problems are also to be expected in the air sector or on the refinery side.

After Saturday, the unions will look to February 16, the date of the fifth day of mobilization.

Just before the end of the examination of the text by the deputies.

And the sending of the latter to the senators.
