The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, received this evening a phone call from the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation abroad, Dr. Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, during which he conveyed the condolences and sympathy of the Mauritanian President and the Mauritanian people to the Syrian government and people, and their solidarity with the families of the victims and those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria.
Ben Marzouk drew attention to the feelings of sadness and grief that permeate the Mauritanian street and the Mauritanian government towards this humanitarian catastrophe and what Syria lost as a result of it.
In turn, Al-Miqdad expressed his thanks for the high solidarity expressed by Mauritania and its leadership towards Syria in its ordeal, noting the depth of relations between the two countries and Syria's aspiration to develop cooperation with the brothers in Mauritania in a way that serves the interest of the two brotherly peoples.
