from the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, according to the latest official figures released this Saturday morning.
The number continues to rise, while
calls for help intensify and operations continue to find survivors
among the ruins.
The latest report of fatalities amounts to
24,218.
In Turkey there are already
20,665 dead
and the authorities indicated that they registered
12,141 buildings destroyed or seriously damaged
.
In Syria, meanwhile, there are
3,553 deaths.
