One person died and a
Metrogas operator was injured with serious burns

the explosion and the collapse of a house
in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of
Villa Devoto

The event occurred around 12:30 p.m. this Saturday in a two-story house located on Pedro Morán and Quevedo streets, where
an operator from the Metrogas company was working due to a gas leak
.
For unknown reasons, there was a strong explosion that caused the collapse of the house located in that place and
the fire of two vehicles
that were parked in the area, one of them the Metrogas operator's truck and the other a Volkswagen Goal.
Metrogas personnel reported that at 11:23 on Saturday they received a call from residents of the area due to a strong smell of gas in the area, and that when the operator arrived he opened the cover of the meter that was in the place and at that moment the burst.
"A 34-year-old operator was transferred to the Zubizarreta hospital, where he is hospitalized in serious condition," explained the head of the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAME) Alberto Crescenti, who confirmed that personnel who entered the house found the lifeless body of a person
No further information about the dead person has been released at this time.
As detailed by the head of SAME, the wounded man had severe burns on both hands, face and chest.
Several fire departments and seven SAME units work on the scene, along with personnel from the K9 City Fire Unit to search for people.
"We were getting home and we heard how everything rumbled. We are several blocks from the place, but it felt very strong. It really surprised us. Everything vibrated," said Ana Laura, a woman who lives about 8 blocks from the place of the fire.
