6-year-old Yaakov Yisrael Plai arrived at the scene of the attack in his father's car, which dropped him and his brother off at the bus station in Baramot, where the family lives, so that they could go to Shabbat "Seven Baruchot" in Bnei Brak.

His funeral was held a few hours later, before Shabbat, at the Mount of Comfort cemetery in Jerusalem.

Dozens of people came to accompany the child.

The funeral took place without the presence of the father, who is hospitalized.

One of the rabbis of the community in the Ramot neighborhood paid tribute to him: "We are broken and torn. A wise man was supposed to grow up here. We lack that, but God took him because he completed, he was whole."

20-year-old Alter Shlomo Lederman died of his wounds about an hour after the attack.

He was a yeshiva student who got married only a few months ago and was by his wife's side at the time of the event.

The two planned to go to Elad, to spend Shabbat with his parents.

At first it was suspected that he was hit by one of the gunmen who shot the terrorist to death, but after an examination, a police official ruled out this possibility.

After yesterday's attack, the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir arrived at the scene at the entrance to Jerusalem and after assessing the situation in the police ordered to prepare and prepare plans for Operation Protective Wall 2 in East Jerusalem, starting this coming Sunday.

"To deal with the nests of terrorism in East Jerusalem. The purpose of the operation is to fight and uproot terrorism from the root, reach the terrorists' homes and stop terrorism before it comes to carry out attacks," said the minister.

However, a senior political official later rejected Ben Gabir's statement to be prepared and emphasized that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will make a decision on an operation in Jerusalem only after consultation with the entire security establishment and after an orderly discussion in the political-security cabinet.

"Decisions on Operation Protective Wall 2 are not made by the statement of this or that minister on some sidewalk," he said.

The terrorist who carried out the attack is Hussein Karaka, an Israeli Arab about 30 years old from East Jerusalem with a criminal record.

Karaka lives in the Issawiya neighborhood in the east of the city and his family from the Mount of Olives.

A policeman who arrived at the scene of the incident shot him dead.

After the attack, ten members of the terrorist's family were arrested, including his parents, his brother, his wife, and another person who rented the house where he lived to the terrorist.

The suspects were taken for questioning during which it will be checked whether they knew about the terrorist's intentions to carry out an attack.

Following the arrest of the suspects, clashes began with local residents.

The police responded with measures to disperse demonstrations.

Also, shortly after the attack, the Prime Minister's Office announced that Netanyahu had ordered immediate action to seal the terrorist's house and demolish it.

He also announced that there is a security situation assessment.

He later wished to salute the police officers who killed the terrorist at the scene: "Our answer to terrorism is to hit it with all the strength and deepen our grip on our country."

A political source stated that after an investigation it emerged that the terrorist was a mentally challenged person who was released this week from a psychiatric hospital and his condition deteriorated.

The source also stated that the terrorist lived in a rented house in East Jerusalem, so it is not yet clear whether it is legally possible to seal or destroy his house.

The attack in Neve Ya'akov is considered one of the worst attacks that have occurred in recent years, in which seven people lost their lives: Rafael Ben Eliyahu, 56, the couple Eli and Nathalie Mizrahi in their 40s, Asher Natan, 14, Shaul Chai, -68, Irina Korolova, citizen of Ukraine and 26-year-old Ilya Sosansky.

The following morning, another attack occurred in the city of David, in which a father and son were seriously injured after a 13-year-old Palestinian boy shot them at close range with a gun he was carrying.

Those present at the scene returned fire and shot the terrorist.
