A Libyan plane arrived at Damascus International Airport carrying relief aid for those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria.
The plane's cargo included about 25 tons of foodstuffs, tents and rescue equipment, in addition to a rescue team of 15 people.
The Libyan consul in Damascus, Khalafallah Subaie, said in a statement to SANA reporter: This plane came as support from the Libyan people and the national unity government to help the brothers in Syria overcome the ordeal, pointing to Tripoli's continued sending of relief aid.
Subaie called on all Arab peoples to help the Syrian people to overcome the effects of this earthquake that hit the country.
In turn, Assistant Minister of Local Administration Moataz Dohji expressed his thanks to the Libyan people and government, pointing out that this is the first plane that landed at Damascus International Airport after two planes arrived at Aleppo and Latakia airports.
