The city of Tel Aviv-Yafo is known for leading a strong line against the legal revolution and mayor Ron Huldai even spoke out strongly against it.
Now a clash is expected between the principals of the elementary schools in the city in front of the Ministry of Education due to the fact that they will allow the teachers to be absent from work this coming Monday as part of the protest against the legal coup.
Employees of high-tech companies, doctors and academics have already announced that they will not come.
In addition, there are parents who do not intend to send their children to school.
Now the teachers' struggle is backed by the authorities who are employees of the Ministry of Education but are also subordinate to the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality.
Which is expected to draw an angry reaction from the ministry and Education Minister Yoav Kish of the Likud.

In the letter they signed, principals of elementary schools in Tel Aviv-Jaffa wrote "We believe that the right of social protest, and in particular against the background of values of concern for the peace of society in Israel, is of first-class educational value. Accordingly, we will respect the students, teachers
/ Yam and the parents who find it appropriate to take part in social activities on this background, in particular this coming Monday. The school day on Monday will be held in accordance with the constraints and we will update on this."
The Ministry of Education stated: "The Ministry will not allow the education system in general and the students in particular to be dragged into a political debate. This coming Monday, like the rest of the week, is a completely normal school day - no absence permits were given, neither to the students nor to the teaching staff. Especially these days we repeat and sharpen The mission chosen by the educators and their commitment to statehood and leaving personal political opinions outside the walls of the educational institutions. This does not contradict the right of a teacher or administrator to vote and/or adhere to this or that political opinion, but we must not mix them and the line is thin."
