On video: Netanyahu and government officials arrived at a support meeting in Derai (Roni Kanfo)
The legal advisor to the government Gali Beharev-Miara strongly criticized the new "Deri Law" this evening (Saturday), which will be brought up tomorrow in the Ministerial Committee for Legislation.
The ombudsman explained that the bill has a "distinct personal aspect", and that the High Court may disqualify it due to "abuse of authority".
The law, which will eliminate any judicial review of ministerial appointments in the government, should allow Deri's return to the government table, despite the High Court's disqualification. The proposal is signed by all members of the coalition, with the exception of ministers and deputy ministers, and will be brought for approval in a preliminary reading in the Knesset plenum next Wednesday.
A sharp criticism of the law.

In a letter to the Minister of Justice, Rabbi Miara Meshnya, Gil Limon and Avital Somplinsky wrote that there is "a high probability that the court will not be satisfied with a warning note, but will determine that the law constitutes a border crossing, and that it constitutes an abuse of the Knesset's constituent authority (the authority to enact basic laws, b" A)".
At the end of the letter, the two Mishnis write: In the opinion of the ombudsman, our position is that due to the substantial difficulties in the bill it should be opposed." which has already been invalidated by the High Court, and therefore the law is not suitable for fundamental legislation.
