Kish today launched his plan for the system and claimed that it is necessary to examine when it is appropriate to talk to the children about sexuality. "He has no authority in the office"

The education system has recently been in opposition between two sides - conservatives and liberals.

In this context, the issue of dealing with sexual identity came to the fore.

After the publication in "Israel Hayom" about the initiative to limit the age of exposure to the subject - Minister of Education Yoav Kish made a disparaging statement towards Avi Maoz - "He has no authority in the Ministry of Education".

At the end of last week it was published in "Israel Hayom" that a new bill initiated by MK Deputy Minister Avi Maoz seeks to establish in law a ban on holding a lesson, activity or conversation related to sexual orientation or gender identity up to the eighth grade - age 14.

At a press conference held today (Sunday) by Education Minister Yoav Kish, he also referred to his own words in the Knesset in which he claimed that it is necessary to examine when it is correct to talk to children about sexual identity and sexuality, but he sought to separate them from Avi Maoz's bill.

"I want to separate it, because I saw that there was a storm, with things said by some deputy minister that are completely unrelated to the incident. I have no idea what was said there," he said.

We will remind you that according to the bill, the school principal will not allow the delivery of a lesson on sexuality until the 9th grade.

After that, it will be possible to raise the issue only if special conditions have been met, among them - the director of the institution has confirmed in writing that in his opinion there is a need to raise the issue and the activity will be conducted by professional parties trained to discuss these issues.

Will he manage to get along with Minister Kish?

Also, it will be possible to teach these subjects only on the condition that the parents were informed in advance of the intention to raise the subject at school, at least 75% of the parents of the students in the class approved the conversation, sent written consent and the student also expressed his consent to participate in the activity.

Alongside this, the new minister Kish is required to address the uproar that occurred due to the transfer of the Ministry of Education's external programs into the hands of Avi Maoz.

He referred to the GFN program as part of the programs entering school and said: "I've said this a thousand times, the GFN system remains in the Ministry of Education, under the responsibility of the Minister of Education. The stories about Avi Maoz a thousand times will not help, he has no authority in the Ministry of Education." .
