Until the end of 2028, the former surveying office will remain a communal accommodation for asylum seekers.

But the city has to tackle it vigorously.

Wolfratshausen – The former land surveying office on Heimgartenstraße has been used for many years as a temporary accommodation for asylum seekers.

Every five years, the operator, the government of Upper Bavaria, has to apply to the city for the extension of said use.

The city council's building committee approved the request on Wednesday evening - but Dr.

Hans Schmidt (Greens) addressed clear words to the district government.

Conflict over asylum accommodation: "Shows the human image behind it"

81 asylum seekers, men, women and children, are currently living in the facility next to the tax office.

The government of Upper Bavaria can continue to use the building for this purpose until December 31, 2028 - after that it is to be demolished.

It is planned to use the property as a parking lot for the new surveying office and the tax office.

Third mayor Annette Heinloth (Greens) stated in the building committee meeting that it is now de facto no longer a temporary arrangement, but a "permanent facility".

In such residential properties, the presence of a playground "and a lounge area outside" is actually required for the residents.

Both are not available on Heimgartenstrasse.

Asylum accommodation Wolfratshausen: Playground and outdoor recreation area condition for continued existence

"From four residential units, a playground is needed," City Councilor Schmidt seconded his party friend.

He was outraged that the district government was blatantly ignoring this must, "shows the image of humanity behind it."

Children's noise, stressed Schmidt, was tolerable for "the tax officials" in the immediate vicinity.

Heinloth called for a playground and an open-air recreation area to be linked as a "condition" to the yes to the extension of use.

"We cannot set any conditions," said the head of the town hall, Klaus Heilinglechner (citizens' association Wolfratshausen/BVW).

He showed great understanding for the demands of the Greens, but pointed out: If the city refuses to continue using it, "then we will have to close the next gym".

Because for the 81 asylum seekers who have a roof over their heads on Heimgartenstrasse, there is no alternative living space in Loisachstadt.

"It's temporary community accommodation and it will stay that way," said Heilinglechner.

Viewed as such, the operator de jure does not have to create a children's playground or outdoor area.

However, he would still send the district government the requests of the city councilors in writing.

"Minor adjustment measures" are intended to satisfy the district

The expert committee unanimously approved the application for temporary continued use of the former surveying office as temporary accommodation for asylum seekers until the end of 2028.

Heilinglechner explained that “minor adjustments” have been made to the existing building over the past five years.

A partition wall was installed in the basement so that an emergency room could be set up.

Due to "the structural adjustment of the occupancy room in the basement", the maximum occupancy limit was reduced from 88 people to the current maximum of 81 people.
