"I didn't sleep and I pulled my hair out": the star of "Wesday" reveals the difficulties behind the scenes | Israel today

The star of the hit Netflix series spoke openly in the panel she participated in and openly shared the exhausting experience of working on the project, when she had to learn so many things at the same time and in such a short time


Jenna Ortega, the star of the successful series "Wesday" from Netflix, is indeed one of the most talked about names in the industry and is considered a rising star, but with success comes a physical and mental price which she recently revealed in a painful confession.

Last Thursday, the 20-year-old Ortega took part in a question-and-answer panel about the hit series and spoke openly about how exhausting and stressful her schedule was in preparing for the shoots and the long days of shooting themselves, when the load on her was crazy and required her, among other things, to learn to speak German, play the bass 'Lo, canoeing and developing sword skills.

"It required me to arrive on set two hours before a shooting day that lasted between 12 and 14 hours, return home to study what I needed to study that day or arrive at my apartment where my cello teacher was already waiting for me," she said, adding that even on the weekends She always got to rest.

She also said that she started playing the cello and the saif in the months before the filming of the series and continued them throughout the filming of the first season for 8 months in Romania.

"I didn't sleep at all," she revealed the exhausting routine that was her share and even added that the stress made her pull out her hair.

"So many times my father talked to me on FaceTime when I was crying hysterically," she recalled.

She also added and told how important it was for her to do everything herself and make things look believable, as she tries to avoid using doubles as much as possible.

"Tim Burton (director and producer of the series) reassured me that everything would be fine, but I was under pressure all the time - especially towards the end of filming when there was still so much to do and there was simply no time," she said.

The stress and intense days of filming also eventually led to Ortega contracting the corona virus and nevertheless filming the famous dance scene that has since become a crazy viral hit, a revelation that brought a wave of criticism and outrage towards her when she revealed it in December.

After breaking viewership records in its first season, in early January it was announced that "Wesday" was renewed for a second season.
