As part of the fight against the trafficking and smuggling of drugs into the State of Israel, an operational activity was conducted last month by the Defense Unit of the Negev Region in the southern district of the police together with IDF forces from the 80th Division in the Yoav units and the "Magan Eilat" battalion, regarding the smuggling of drugs across the borders.

The fighters of the Magn and YMS unit of the Southern Jurisprudence took control of the suspect and seized from the surface vessel a huge sack (bla) containing about 92 kg of heroin and pure cocaine, and 28 kg of hashish worth about 50 million NIS H.
With the arrest of the suspect, a resident of the Mitzpe Ramon diaspora in his 30s, he was transferred to the Israel Police for investigation on suspicion of smuggling dangerous drugs of cocaine, heroin and hashish weighing a whopping 100 kg.
The commander of the Negev region, Deputy Superintendent Nachshon Nagler: "This is drug smuggling on an unprecedented scale of hard drugs that were caught smuggling from the southern border of the State of Israel. There is no doubt that this activity leads to severe economic damage and drying up the scourge of drugs that is a cause of crime by criminal elements throughout the country and in the Negev region in particular ".
