Diplomatic delegations offered condolences to the victims of the earthquake disaster in Syria, at the headquarters of the Syrian diplomatic mission in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, today.
During his meeting with delegations of mourners, Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, head of the Syrian diplomatic mission to Egypt, affirmed that Syria appreciates the positions of friends whose adversity proves the sincerity of their positions.
Darwish pointed out that this humanitarian catastrophe requires concerted efforts to confront it, stressing that Syria is working with all its capabilities to overcome the effects of the earthquake.
The Russian ambassador in Cairo, Giorgi Borisenko, expressed his sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims who died as a result of the earthquake in Syria, stressing his country's permanent readiness to provide assistance to Syria.
The Iranian Chargé d'Affaires to Egypt, Mohammad Hossein Soltani, on behalf of the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also offered his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the Syrian government and people.
Condolences were also offered by diplomatic delegations from Lebanon, Serbia, Cyprus, Armenia, China and Venezuela.
