It's finally time for America's biggest sporting event: the Super Bowl.

The 2023 NFL season culminates this Sunday night with a prime-time battle between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The two teams couldn't be more even.

Both are the top seeds of their respective conferences.

Both have a 16-3 record.

Both have scored 546 points so far.

Both have six All-Pros.

And they both have a Kelce brother.

Here's everything you need to know before the long-awaited game.

Hurts and Mahomes make history

When Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes take the field this Sunday, it will be the first time two black quarterbacks have met in a Super Bowl.

Beyond their mission on the field, the two stars serve as an inspiration to the younger generation of American football fans seeking a more inclusive version of one of America's most beloved sports.

Hurts is in his second season as a starter.

The Houston, Texas native has had an MVP-worthy season, leading the team to a dominant 16-1 record in his starts and finishing with an impressive 3,701 passing yards with 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, along with 760 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

At just 27 years old, Mahomes has an outstanding resume and a list of accolades that includes a two-time league MVP, a Super Bowl MVP and, most importantly, a Super Bowl champion.

This year, he joined Tom Brady as the only starting quarterback to three Super Bowls in his first six seasons.

Going into this weekend, injuries are less of a concern for both quarterbacks.

Hurts is recovering from a sprained right shoulder suffered in December.

Since the injury, his offensive output has dropped slightly.

Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in the divisional round against Jacksonville.

He made it to the AFC title game but limped a little during the game.

The good news for both athletes is that they've had two full weeks off since they last took the field, which should bode well for Sunday.

Reid faces a familiar rival

Kansas City coach Andy Reid has a chance to get his second Super Bowl ring this Sunday against the first team he led to the Super Bowl.

During his time with the Eagles, he guided the team to nine playoff playoffs, six division titles, five NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl berth.

He was fired at the end of the 2012 season, when the team finished with a dismal 4-12 record.

He immediately joined the Chiefs, and has since achieved double-digit wins in all but one season.

With the rise of Mahomes, the Chiefs have been nearly unstoppable, reaching the title game three of the past four years.

Though Reid will be held in high esteem with or without a second ring, a victory this Sunday would be a finishing touch to his coaching legacy.

brotherly battle

In 2017, Eagles center Jason Kelce won his first Super Bowl.

In 2019, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce won his first Super Bowl.

In 2023, either Jason or Travis will win their second Super Bowl as they become the first brothers in history to meet on the NFL's biggest stage.

The Cleveland Heights, Ohio duo have long dreamed of sharing this experience.

Before coming to the NFL, they were teammates at the University of Cincinnati.

Since then, they have built impressive professional careers.

Travis is an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time All-Pro, and is widely known for his flashy dance moves and exuberant personality.

A six-time Pro Bowl and five-time All-Pro selection, Jason is known as a leader and workhorse on the offensive line.

Whatever the result of this Sunday, the Kelce family will have something to celebrate.
