Residents of the city of Qamishli and its countryside flocked to the Arab Cultural Center in the city, to offer their donations, and to contribute to helping families affected by the earthquake, and to alleviate their suffering in the face of difficult circumstances and the repercussions of war and siege.
The governor of Al-Hasakah, Dr. Louay Sayoh, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the rush of the people of Qamishli to participate in the donations, and the arrival of the people of the province to contribute, is part of the Syrian scene, which reflects the originality of this people in helping their brothers in all the provinces.
The head of the Qamishli City Council, Suhail Rahawi, stated that the first day of the donations witnessed a good turnout from all popular, religious and clan activities. The response was good and the donations will continue to be received until Friday.
Sheikh Hussein al-Hasso of the al-Rashid clan affirmed the clans' keenness to support the people of Syria in the stricken provinces, as the people of his clan provided 50 million Syrian pounds to support their brothers in Lattakia, Aleppo and Hama.
During the past two days, the city of Qamishli witnessed a campaign to collect in-kind aid for the afflicted families under the title (good people), which was implemented by a group of young people, as the total financial donations made by the people of Qamishli until now amounted to 189 million pounds.
