The Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) announced this Sunday the death of Proteo, a dog that was part of the country's delegation that participates in search and rescue work in Turkey.

“The members of the Mexican Army and Air Force deeply regret the loss of our great companion Can Proteo.

Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard also regretted the death of the dog in a message on Twitter: "I regret the sensitive death of Proteo, a member of the SEDENA rescue team in Turkey.
