Giffey, Wegner: Who will lead the new city government?

The CDU clearly won the repeated Berlin parliamentary elections.
According to the preliminary results published by the state returning officer, the party led by top candidate Kai Wegner received 28.2 percent of the votes.
It is the best result for the Union since 1999 and an increase of 10.2 percentage points compared to the previous election in September 2021, which was marred by numerous mishaps.
