The traditional Or Yehuda race, which is held every year for the 11th year, was held this morning (Friday) in the city and recorded an all-time record of participants - about 3,500 runners.
The mayor, Liat Shochat, increased the allocations to ten kilometers, five kilometers, two kilometers (after the late Hadar Cohen) and 300 meters for families with special needs.
The Minister of Culture and Sports, Miki Zohar, was also a guest at the event.
At exactly seven in the morning, the competitive 5-kilometer leg was launched, and a quarter of an hour later the double distance leg.
In total, about 1,700 runners participated in the two competitive stages, the highest figure since the race was founded.
At 8:30 a.m., the 2-kilometer popular race was started in memory of the late Hadar Cohen, an MGB fighter who was killed 7 years ago at the Nablus Gate.
Hundreds of residents and students who ran together with Hadar's family, parents Ofer and Sigal, as well as soldiers of the Hadar company named after her, participated in this race.
Another exciting moment took place with the start of the 300 meter race for families with special needs.
The event was produced by the sports department in "Meetings" headed by Diego Levonson.

The mayor, Liat Shohat,
states: "There is nothing more spectacular than the sight of thousands of runners, of all ages, in colorful costumes and imbued with a sporting spirit at the starting line. Or Yehuda is a city that lives and breathes sports and there is no doubt that this tradition only gets better and better every year. The allocation in memory of Hadar Cohen He is an unusual strength for me. The meeting with Segal and Ofer, Hadar's parents, who chose this way with us to commemorate her every year - is for me a model of strength."
