The Standard Chartered Marathon (the 25th Standard Chartered Marathon / Standard Chartered Marathon) was held today (12th). It is the largest sports event in Hong Kong after the anti-epidemic of the new crown virus returned to normal. A total of 37,000 runners participated.

The starting point of the full marathon and the half marathon is located on Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Among them, the full marathon runners will run on the Stonecutters Bridge and the Ting Kau Bridge. The 10km race will return to the Eastern Corridor. All races will end at Victoria Park.

At about 6:45 in the morning, the first batch of elite 10-kilometer runners crossed the line at the finish line in Victoria Park, and runners from different groups also crossed the line one after another.


As of 11:00 in the morning, the Hospital Authority announced that a total of 18 runners were unwell and sent to the hospital for treatment, 13 men and 5 women, of which 12 were in stable condition, 4 had been discharged, and the condition of 2 was unknown.

The runners were sent to Eastern District Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Queen Mary Hospital and Ruttonjee Hospital respectively. Symptoms included dizziness, dehydration, blurred vision and foot pain.


The conference announced at the post-race summary press conference held at 12:00, that as of 11:00, a total of 31 runners had been sent to the hospital, and all of them were in stable condition.
