China and Hong Kong have been fully cleared for a week. Last Monday (6th) the Heung Yuen Wai Port opened to passenger traffic for the first time. The parking lot was full yesterday (11th) and there was chaos.

This morning (13th), the Government Property Agency stated that the supply of parking lots is still in short supply and appeals to motorists not to use them.

A reporter from "Hong Kong 01" went to the scene this morning to observe, and the car queue temporarily disappeared. The staff said that they would not accept unreserved cars today, and pointed out that there was a suspected error in the online system yesterday, which led to overbooking.

The reporter also found that the online reservation system of the parking lot showed that there would be no parking spaces for the next week.

The staff explained that in response to yesterday's situation, the appointment system was temporarily locked and no appointments were provided, and it is unknown when it will be reopened.

The reporter arrived at the parking lot of Xiangyuanwei Port at around 10:00 this morning. No congestion or traffic queues were seen. Before all private cars enter, the staff will ask if they have an appointment.

There are still a few vacant spaces in the parking lot.

Suspected System Error Leads to Overbooking of Parking Spaces

According to the on-site staff, it was suspected that an error in the online reservation system yesterday led to "overbooking"; in addition, there were a small number of parking spaces allocated to non-reserved vehicles, so there was confusion.

The staff also pointed out that only reserved vehicles will be received today, and the arrangement is smooth for the time being, and they can also temporarily cope with today's reserved parking spaces.

In addition, some vehicles failed to leave the parking lot yesterday.

The staff reminded that there is an additional fee for overtime parking, which is 10 yuan per hour for the first two hours and 15 yuan per hour thereafter. That is, if you park for three hours overtime, you need to pay an additional 35 yuan.

The online reservation system is locked and cannot make reservations

The parking lot itself has an online reservation system, but the reporter found that there will be insufficient parking spaces in the next week, and reservations cannot be made.

The staff said that due to the full situation yesterday, the online reservation system has been "locked (locked)", and no more reservations can be made. It is unknown when the reservation will be reopened, but it will "serve (service) post all reservations."
