During his meeting with a Vietnamese delegation, Al-Jaafari explained that Syria has been under an economic blockade since 2011 by the European Union and the United States, pointing to the existence of historical relations between Syria and Vietnam.
In turn, the head of the Vietnamese delegation, head of the consular section at the Vietnamese embassy, Nguyen Tong Lam, expressed the sincere condolences of the government and people in Vietnam to the friendly Syrian people and to the families of the victims of the devastating earthquake, pointing out that the delegation does not represent only the official Vietnamese side, but also the civil side of the Vietnamese community in Russia.
For his part, Russian State Duma member Rizvan Kurbanov offered condolences to the victims of the earthquake and stressed that the policy drawn by Russian President Vladimir Putin towards Syria is clear and clear, expressing his hope that Syria will return to its previous status before the crisis as soon as possible.
Al-Jaafari pointed out that the arrival of the Russian volunteers in Syria since the first day indicates the depth of the brotherly relationship between the peoples of Russia and Syria and between the leaderships of the two countries.
